In the summer of 2011, the 22nd World Scout Jamboree will be held in Sweden. 40,000 Scouts and Guides will be taking part from all over the world. The UK Contingent has been fortunate enough to have been awarded 4444 places; with Derbyshire County Scouts and Midlands Guides having secured two units to attend the Jamboree. Each unit consists of 36 Young People and 4 members of the leadership team. Derbyshire Scouts and Midland Region Guides are thrilled to be able to take 72 Young People to the Jamboree and we know that every Unit member will have an absolutely amazing experience. Currently hard work is taking place in order to prepare the Unit members for Jamboree life, including unit activities, fundraising events and weekend training camps. Obviously there is a cost in this preparation, so if anyone would like to get involved in sponsorship or donations, please contact us to discuss what can be done to support each other. |
